Review: Zoolander (2001)

Laugh-out-loud fun that was a total surprise chuckle-fest. Ben Stiller has been a real hit-or-miss performer for me (mostly miss) but with this film I was impressed by both his direction and his ability to convince me that he was playing a character and not just an extension of himself.
Hilarious parodies of the fashion world (Orange mocha frapaccinos!), star cameos (David Bowie as the judge of a rumble-style “walk-off”) and the interplay between Stiller and Owen Wilson, as hot, hot rookie model Hansel, set the stage for an enjoyable two hours.
