Have you seen the newest state quarter yet (Michigan)? Yes, I admit, I’m one of those people, collecting state quarters. I saw a Michigan quarter last week and is it ever bor-ing!

So far my favorite is Maine, with Rhode Island a close second. (That whole lighthouse/sailing/ocean thing.) Which is your favorite?

Is that a round of cheese or a giant butter burger on the Wisconsin quarter? And what’s with the gargantuan ear of corn? Is the state touting GMO crops?
Is that all that Michigan can come up with?? I mean there must be something there?
I had read that each state designed their own coin. So, it’s interesting to see the state character, mindset…psychology?…reflected in the coin.
I knew we would have Lincoln on ours, how could we not. Better than, is it Alabama?, that has Helen Keller cut off at the knees! (She is sitting in a chair, but it looks like sort of funny.)
I agree with you on Rode Island and Main, they are the best.
If that is the winner for Michigan, I wonder what the runner up designs looked like?
The runner-up for Michigan was designed by Michael Moore, and it shows a resident firing a gun into a Big Three auto.
There are a lot of them that are the outline of the state, in one format or another. I was kind of fond of the Connecticut, the one with the tree. But, there are quite a few of them that are nice.
