So, I’ve finished the best worst book I’ve ever read. Here are a couple final gems from Buster: A Legend in Laughter to leave you with…
It is unknown how much of an artistic input Buster had regarding this film, but according to what was stated about the film, he must have at least been a co-writer, for he often mentioned that Doughboys was autobiographical. This is rather hard to believe since the film did have some very funny moments and, as we all know … (my dramatic pause) war is never funny.
Someone should have told this to Robert Altman
And my all-time favorite quote from this book:
Those who were present on the day when Buster met Red Skelton have all commented that there appeared to be immediate rapture between the two men.
Beautiful.
