I am totally in love with the JD comments re basement school and time out. You are right on – I attended 1st grade in a basement classroom and the toys were to drool over – never gave location a thought.
Supernanny is a hero of mine. Woe to the careless parent who thinks time out does not work because the first time they tried it the kid was already incorrigible due to a lifetime of discipline free living.
Q: How do you know when a lesson has sunk in?
A: When the kid teaches the lesson to their doll (or kitty puppet).
