Jim Heynen (1993)
A collection of short stories–and I mean short, the average length is two pages–telling of the antics, explorations and observations of a nameless group of young boys growing up in rural America. I heard the author read some of his stories on NPR and was hooked. They are uniquely written, with a keen eye on the youngsters’ perspective. Some, and I won’t describe them lest I should give away any surprises, are downright hilarious.
