Jeff Eugenides (1993)
This was one of the most haunting books I think I’ve ever read. The word “eerie” probably best describes this story of a group of boys who are fascinated and almost obsessed with a family of five girls who commit suicide in the same year.
I can’t begin to describe this book and do it justice. Just suffice it to say that it’s the kind of book that stays with you long after you’ve read it, and it has one of the most moving concluding paragraphs in modern fiction.
