I never would have believed a 500-page non-fiction book about a civil trial could be such a page-turner. I equate the words ‘civil trial’ with mind-numbing legalese–there are no juicy crimes, dastardly deeds or courtroom intrigue when corporate lawyers step into the ring. Not so with this true story–a twisting, turning and, yes, suspenseful legal drama that unfolds like a movie. A Civil Action is a perfect case of the truth being stranger (and ultimately more entertaining) than fiction.
