Review: American Psycho

Bret Easton Ellis (1991)

Incredibly gruesome. Though portions skewered the NYC Yuppie culture of the ’80s, it went on far too long. (We get it already!)

I read it for two reasons: 1) It’s a book I’ve heard about for a while and is often referenced in book reviews, commentaries etc., and 2) There’s a movie version coming out soon. As always, I figured if I’m going to read the book, do it before you see the movie. Now I’ve done it–I don’t ever need to read it again!
