Review: Red-Tails in Love: A Wildlife Drama in Central Park

Marie Winn (1998)

A birder’s delight. I enjoyed this account of the birds and birdwatchers in Manhattan’s Central Park, a prime resting spot for migrating birds, as well as one of the premier spots for birdwatching in the country. Red Tails centers on the amazing true story of red-tail hawks (rare to Central Park) struggling to survive, mate and raise a brood among the high rises along the park. This inspiring tale shows that even in the heart of the concrete jungle, Mother Nature can endure and surprise us.
