And that sums up my week.
All work related. All bad. I won’t go into details because I have this strict rule about not blogging about my job. Believe me, the worst thing you can do is blog about work. I know first hand. I wasn’t the blogger, I was the bloggee, and it was a bad bad bad situation. As far as work now? Suffice it to say that the karma in the office is very bad right now. To put it another way, all the plants in the office have suddenly decided to become very sickly. And I don’t think it’s a coincidence.
To put it yet another way, the week ended with my trusty iBook crapping out on me. After four years of faithful service, it chooses this week to grind, whirr, stall, freeze and die on me. This isn’t just any ordinary computer. This is a computer with ten years of company (and my) history on it. Yeah, it’s been backed up, but…
In addition, I’ve got a lot of personal stuff on this computer, not to mention all my music, (downloaded legally thank you very much) and purchased from iTunes–which I hadn’t–yet–backed–UP!!!! Idiot!!!! And if your wondering why I had all this personal stuff on my computer, well, that’s the kind of place where I work. Wonderful, when it’s wonderful, which makes it all the worse when it sucks. Did I mention that it sucks right now?
My little computer is at the hospital and I’m without it (and my email, and my music, and my work) til the middle of next week, but the way things are going, I’m not hopeful that the patient will survive.
So, all the blogging that I’d planned to accomplish this week–out the window. I just wasn’t mentally up to the task by the time I dragged myself home each night. This was the loooooongest four day week ever and I’m damn glad it’s over!
