Last night I happened to be on Michigan Avenue at the Chicago River when the weekly fireworks display went off. Apparently, every Saturday night at 6:30 they launch a pyrotechnic display over the river right at the Michigan Avenue bridge. I heard it before I saw it, and was it ever loud. I stood watching on the south west corner at Michagan and Wacker and the sound of the explosions echoing off the tall buildings all around was an amazing effect.
This was the view earlier that evening, from Wacker Drive, looking across the Chicago River toward the Wrigley Building.
City on fire. Mrs. O’Leary’s cow strikes again!
Those pictures are pretty good for a phone….
Those pictures are pretty good … for a girl.
I never knew they did that. Fire works for no particular occasion, huh? Nice picture though; the wonders of modern technology!
I’m beginning to worry– one more tekkie toy and I can see you becoming a street person—-
Whoops–no–you’ll still go home to pet the cats.
