Review: A Series of Unfortunate Events: The End

Lemony Snicket (2006)

Lemony Snicket’s final installment is a fitting conclusion to the Baudelaire kids’ series of unfortunate (and very amusing) events. Fans of the series know better than to expect a conventional happy ending. By the end of The End, questions remain, mysteries are left unsolved, and characters are unaccounted for, but Snicket wouldn’t have it any other way. And neither would we.

That’s not to say the Baudelaires aren’t older and very much wiser than when we first met them that fateful day on Briny Beach, thirteen books ago. And what is it they say about the journey being more important than the destination? Farewell Violet, Klaus, and Sunny. You will be missed.
