Review: One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest

Ken Kesey (1962)

Set in a psych ward in the ’60s, rebel inmate R.P. McMurphy represents every non-conformist of the age as he wages a battle of wills against the tyrannical Nurse Ratched. At this point, it’s nearly impossible to read Cuckoo’s Nest without imagining Jack Nicholson on every page and yet, even if you’ve seen the movie a time or two, it’s well worth reading the original.
