Karen and I split a share in a co-op community farm (King’s Hill Farm) so every Saturday we’ll get a box of fresh, organic produce. This will make it easier for me to increase the fruit and vegetables I eat on a weekly basis, give me something more to work with when I want to make something “fresh” for dinner without having to schlep to the store three times a week, and has the added benefit of supporting local growers.
As you can see, there was quite an eclectic bounty in the first box.
Someone grows pineapples in Chicago?
I was wondering if anyone would mention that. When stuff’s not in season, they supplement with produce from their organic suppliers. And man, was that a tasty pineapple.
