It’s a sugar water mixture (four parts water to one part sugar.) When I a kid, we used to put red food coloring in it to attract the hummers but that’s discouraged now. The red on the feeders is enough to attract the birds…except in my back yard, where once again, the migrating hummingbirds are completely ignoring my snack station.

Maybe they just need time to get used to it. Or maybe you need to move the snack station?
