Last weekend we had a break in our gloomy end-of-winter days as spring made a brief appearance. I spent a couple of hours walking around the Chicago Botanic Garden (photos to come). Drove past this melting iceberg in the parking lot as we were leaving. Crocuses and daffodils may be blooming but there are mountains of dirty ice around reminding us that winter hasn’t quite relinquished its grip on us.
High 40. Low 31. Coldest weekend in three weeks. March-level chill: 15-degrees below normal! Wet snow, possibly mixed with cold rain. Southwest winds turn north 6-17 m.p.h.
