A few people have asked what kind of boat we’ll be on when we’re down in the British Virgin Islands next week. We’ve chartered a 46-foot Oceanus 473 through Sunsail. (Translation: It’s 16 feet longer than the boat we regularly sail here on Lake Michigan. Yikes!)
There’s a full kitchen aboard, with fridge, freezer and oven, and three heads (bathrooms) with showers. It should fit our crew of six quite nicely.
We’ll have an inflatable dinghy with an outboard motor for getting to-and-from shore and there’s swimming platform off the back.
When I look at this photo, I realize how much bigger this boat is than anything I’ve ever crewed on and I get a little freaked out–but it’s a good, excited kind of freaked out.
