What Better Time to Try a New Brew Than on the First Truly Hot & Humid Day of Summer

Dandelion_ale_label Karen and I dropped Kayla off at the Megabus stop downtown in plenty of time to catch her ride back to Minneapolis and then we decided it was too nice an afternoon not to play hooky. So we did by stopping at Hopleaf for a beer in their outdoor garden. We had the place to ourselves and the weather was just sunny, hot, and humid enough to make the cold beer taste extra special good.

Hopfleaf Bar has a great beer selection. I tried a brand new brew, the Dandelion Ale from New Belgium (home of my favorite Fat Tire beer.) As the name implies, it’s made with dandelion greens and has a crisp, summery flavor. They describe it as peachy. It had a beautiful golden color and ice cold out of the tap, it tasted great. Sitting outside in 80-degree sunshine, sipping beer and having a great chat, life is good.

Mark the calendar: August 4th and summer is finally here.
