Back in early October, I spent a long weekend with friends on Washington Island, the island six miles off the tip of Door County in Wisconsin. It rained for most of the time we were there and we were about two weeks early for the fall color, but we didn’t mind. It was a relaxing get-out-of-town and gave us plenty of time to catch up on good books and sample local brews.
