For a month and a half now, my surgery date has loomed large, but always at a distance. Now, that date is here.
Today, I ran around doing errands and finishing up tasks as if preparing for the world’s lousiest vacation. In between, I took a few moments to visit the lake, a thousand shades of green, and to enjoy the sun breaking through the clouds on a beautiful spring day.
No big speech here, no deep thoughts, just a simple post to say I’ll be gone for a few days and back as soon as I can.
Most of all, I wanted to extend a thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has been so amazing with their kind thoughts and words of encouragement. Throughout these last few weeks, I have been so touched by the outpouring of support from friends, near and far, old and new. This alone has been a tremendous gift for which I am, and will always be, so thankful.
