For a while now, I’ve been telling myself I’m going to apply myself, pick up my camera and get out there shooting photographs. The only way I’m going to get any better and improve my craft is to shoot, shoot, shoot. It just wasn’t happening organically, as I’d hoped, and now I’m only a few months away from the big trip to France. If I’m not comfortable using my new camera by then, I’ll be kicking myself up one side of the canal and down the other.
So, toward those goals, I’ve decided to devote a portion of every Friday to shooting photographs. Last Friday was my first photo walk, which I took late in the day at the Pratt Street beach in Chicago.
